ALee Photography posted the homecoming cornation pictures and order forms in Cheryl H's office. Attendance please stop by and pick up an order form. Order forms are due by Oct 12th.

Reminder....Friday starts Dutchmen Fridays again. We have $5 for students and $5 for staff each week to give away. Remember, if your name is called and you’re not wearing Dutchmen apparel the money rolls over to the next week. Your name can only be drawn once a month. Show your Dutchmen pride!!!!

The girls' tennis team improved to 13-2 last night with a win over NLS and are the West Central Conference Champions! Congratulations! They also placed 3rd at the Litchfield Invite on Saturday! Keep up the great work.

Homecoming Week

Friday – Spirit Day, Pep fest 5th hour, Parade begins between 1:30 – 1:45, Football game 7:00 PM, Dance for 9-12

Seniors – If you did not receive an open campus form please stop by the office and see Audrey for a copy. Remember to turn in forms before the first open campus date on Thursday, October 27.

This year student council will be hosting a contest for the best decorated floats in the homecoming parade. There will be three winners chosen by the members of the parade committee. The winner will be announced at half time of the football game.

All student council members need to be dismissed at 10:53 (4th hour) for the pep fest and all royalty dismissed at 12:00 on Friday, Sept. 30 for the pep fest.

Congratulations to Homecoming Grand Marshal Ms. Walker. Stop in and congratulate her.

College Credit Registration and College Fair

I am hoping to get enough seniors and juniors to sign up to attend the college fair being held at Halenbeck Hall on Tuesday, Oct 11th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. SCSU will provide the transportation and I will chaperone if we can get enough students to sign up. There will be over 100 colleges for you to visit with. Take this opportunity to visit with numerous colleges in one stop FOR FREE! Sign up in the guidance office by MONDAY!

This week students in German/Spanish III and IV filled out the application to register to receive foreign language college credits from FDLTCC during their German/Spanish class. If you DID NOT fill one out and need to, see me ASAP!

Within the next week your other college credit courses will hand out the college credit application to register to receive credits from MN State Fergus Falls. If you have not filled it out by Thurs, Sept 29th, see me as I will be mailing them in on that day to Fergus Falls. The application for MN State looks like the one below:

I know that so many of my students are busy with different activities that may inhibit their ability to visit a college, or they don't want to miss a day of school. I wanted to share a few colleges that offer a Fall Preview visit during the MEA break (Thursday Oct. 20 and Friday Oct. 21) at their colleges. Call or email the college to reserve a spot in their visit days.

The Melrose FFA will have a kick-off meeting this Thursday after school in room 312. Anyone in grades 9-12 are welcome to attend.

Congratulations to the Melrose Area Boy's and Girl's Soccer Teams. Both Teams won against the St. Cloud Tech JV teams (the girls won 2-1 and the boys 8-1). Keep it going.


This is the 1st opportunity to buy your yearbook. The Jostens site was down yesterday so starting at 8:00 AM today the first 125 people to order will get their books for the lowest possible price. Go to the Melrose Homepage and click on order yearbook.

Students – please return your Internet Permission forms and your Emergency Forms this week to Audrey in the office. Please put them in the box on the table.

Students purchase your parking permits in the office from Audrey. Cost is $40.00. All vehicles need a parking permit by Friday, September 23.

The following students need to see Audrey today: Tanner Klaphake, Spencer Weber, Dylan Schmiesing, Corey Wiehoff, Abby Wessel, Justin Tschida, Courtney Lund.

All NHS officers will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 a.m. in the Quiet Room.

We're Up and Running

We're up and running and back at it! It's busy here but wanted to quick update the blog.

I will be meeting with seniors sometime next week to visit with them about their senior year, scholarships, applying to college, requesting transcripts, college visits, etc.

A couple of upcoming events that I want you to know about:

- Sat Sept 24 (Willmar) and Sat Oct 15 (Hutchinson) Ridgewater College is holding open house college visit days. Register by visiting
